Personal Details:

My motivation to pursue medical studies was initially driven by a desire to work in orthopedics and trauma surgery. At the beginning of my training, these were two separate disciplines, so I first completed training as a surgeon and trauma surgeon. The merger of the specialties of orthopedics and trauma surgery in 2007 provided me with the opportunity to also obtain a specialization in orthopedics. This merger made it possible for me to fulfill my original dream of treating patients in both specialties.

I have been practicing as a surgeon since 1996 and as a trauma surgeon since 2003. After my studies in Marburg, Essen, and Aachen, my first training position was in the surgical department of Klinikum Elmshorn. This facility covered the entire spectrum of surgery and trauma surgery, providing me with comprehensive training. I also had extended stays abroad, including at the surgery department of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in England, at University Hospital Zurich, and in the orthopedics department of Kantonsspital Luzern.

After obtaining my specialization in surgery, I transferred to the trauma surgery department at the University Hospital of Kiel, where I continued my training as a trauma surgeon until 2005. This period allowed me to deepen my expertise and skills specifically in trauma surgery.

At the end of 2005, I assumed the position of Senior Physician at the newly established Department of Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics at Klinikum Lüneburg. Under the leadership of Dr. Jörg Cramer, I was instrumental in building and shaping the department over a period of more than 7 years.

Since 2012, I have been working as a practicing physician at Praxis Stadtkoppel. Initially, I practiced as a surgeon and trauma surgeon, and since 2015, I have also been practicing as an orthopedist.

I have been living in Lüneburg with my wife and our two children for 15 years. In my free time, I regularly go running, play basketball, and enjoy skiing in the winter.
